A vehicle caught fire on the Riverside (91) Freeway Sunday, halting traffic and prompting a Sigalert.
The fire was reported at about 9:50 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway east of Central Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The four occupants of the burning vehicle were able to escape before firefighters arrived at the scene, the CHP said.
Emergency crews shut down the HOV and number one lanes, backing up traffic to 14th Street, according to Caltrans.
