The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose three-tenths of a cent Monday to $3.042, the 52nd increase in 55 days.
The average price has risen 38.2 cents over the past 55 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The run began with 23 consecutive increases. It has been interrupted by drops of three-tenths of a cent on both May 29 and June 8 and a half-cent Saturday.
The run of increases followed 58 decreases in 62 days totaling 80.6 cents, which dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Aug. 30, 2016.
The average price is 3 cents more than a week ago and 19.9 cents higher than one month ago but 60.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped 46.6 cents since the start of the year.
