Emergency crews were attempting to rescue a wounded hiker on Hidden Springs Mountain Saturday.
The hiker suffered a lower extremity injury just before 8:30 a.m. while trekking the M Trail near Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters were trying to reach the hiker by ground while a California Highway Patrol helicopter searched overhead, fire officials said.
