The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose two-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $3.063, one day after remaining unchanged.
The average price is 2.3 cents more than a week ago and 15 cents higher than one month ago but 61.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 44.5 cents since the start of the year.
“Pump prices throughout Southern California slowed last week and they are likely to continue to stabilize this week,” Doug Shupe, a corporate communications & programs manager with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service.
“That’s because there will be less demand for fuel following the Fourth of July weekend because not as many people will be talking road trips in the coming week as we saw over the holiday weekend.”
