A brush fire that broke out Thursday on the south edge of San Jacinto consumed about four acres before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 9 a.m. in the area of Park Avenue and state Route 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said five engine crews and two hand crews, numbering more than 50 personnel, were sent to the location and encountered flames spreading at a moderate rate through a field.
No homes or other structures were immediately threatened.
With the aid of fire crews from the Soboba Indian Reservation and the Hemet Fire Department, county fire personnel had the brusher contained within a half-hour.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
