A gas line ruptured inside an underground electrical vault in Indio Tuesday causing evacuations.
The rupture was reported at 5:53 p.m. at Avenue 48 and Chaparrosa Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Southern California Gas crews were called to the scene and Avenue 47 was closed from Van Buren Street to Calhoun Street, fire officials said.
Between 10 and 20 homes were ordered evacuated during the repairs which were completed about 8:20 p.m., officials said.
