An investigation was underway Wednesday into the discovery of a body in Coachella, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the area of Avenue 49 and Calle Abelia at 8:19 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a body, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro.
A half-mile stretch of Avenue 49 was closed between Van Buren and Fredrick streets while investigators worked the scene as of 12:30 p.m.
No additional information was immediately available, including when the roadway might reopen.
