A multi-vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 215 in Riverside left at least one person injured and prompted the closure of all but one lane on the northbound side of the freeway.
The collision was reported about 12:35 p.m. just north of Box Springs Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two to three vehicles were involved in the crash in the HOV and fast lane of northbound I-215.
At least one motorist required medical attention from Riverside Fire Department paramedics.
The CHP shut down three of four lanes, prompting a SigAlert because of the ensuing traffic jam, according to reports from the scene.
As of 1:30 p.m., the closure remained in effect, and no vehicles had yet been towed from the location.
