At least one motorist was seriously hurt Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on state Route 86 near the Salton Sea.
The crash was reported about 3:50 p.m. in the area of Avenue 81, near the reservation of the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At least one person was rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio suffering from what were described as major injuries, the CHP reported.
