The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County is at its lowest amount on Thanksgiving since 2016 despite rising seven-tenths of a cent Thursday to $3.107.
The average price is seven-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 2 cents less than one month ago and 68.5 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 40.1 cents since the start of the year.
Analysts attribute the relatively low average to the sharp decreases in the early months of the coronavirus pandemic because of reduced demand.
