The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County recorded its largest increase since July 24 Sunday, rising nine-tenths of a cent to $3.127.

The average price is 1.6 cents more than one week ago and 2.4 cents higher than one month ago, but 41.4 cents less than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 38.1 cents since the start of the year.

The average price changed by two-tenths of a cent or less nine times in 10 days before Sunday.
