Four people, including three children, were hurt Tuesday morning in a head-on collision near Moreno Valley.
The crash was reported about 7 a.m. on Gilman Springs Road, east of Alessandro Boulevard, just outside Moreno Valley city limits, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Matt Napier said a sedan crossed over the double yellow lines, clipped a box truck, and then collided with another sedan head-on.
At least one person became trapped and had to be freed from the wreckage.
The Riverside County Fire Department reported an adult suffered injuries described as serious, while three other patients — described only as “pediatric” patients — suffered injuries of an unknown severity.
The roadway was clear as of 9 a.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
