Police Thursday are investigating a shooting following a crash involving an unmarked police vehicle in South Gate.
According to broadcast reports, police were called at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Garfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard regarding reports of a shooting.
CBS 2 reported a pickup possibly collided with the unmarked police vehicle and the officer and the driver of the pickup possibly exchanged gunfire.
Photos of the scene showed the windshield of the pickup with several bullet holes.
A Huntington Park Police Department watch commander told City News Service that Bell Police are leading the investigation.
Bell Police officials could not be reached for comment.
