This weekend enjoy an art festival or attend one of the three country/folk/country-rock music festivals happening around Los Angeles. All weekend you can check out the Superfine Art Fair in DTLA, or find yourself at Pasadena’s ArtNight on Friday or Beyond the Streets art gallery’ Print Bazaar and the Getty Indigenous People’s Day celebration on Saturday.
Tim McGraw headlines the Boots and Brews Festival on Friday night, Dustbowl Revival will play and curate a lineup of folksy and rock acts at Sonic Boom Festival Saturday, and Sunday is rounded out with Willie Nelson and Family at the Outlaw Music Festival.
FRIDAY
ArtNight Pasadena: Museums, gallerys, music venues and more will open their doors to experience their art and histories. There will be free shuttles between stops, and food trucks along the walk to refuel. Institutions participating include The Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena City Hall and the USC Pacific Asian Museum.
Ben Williams Band at LACMA: As part of their Friday Night jazz series, the museum will host Ben Williams Band for a free concert.
San Gabriel Dumpling and Beer Festival: The Valley hosts a spin on Oktoberfest with dumpling and beer vendors across The Mission District.
Pool Together Fest: Join in on setting the Guiness Book of World Records for largest water aerobics class.
Nightmare Before Christmas Fan Event at El Capitan: Disney Imagineers and affiliates will celebrate X Atencio’s legacy at the company.
Florence and the Machine: The band will perform at the Hollywood Bowl.
Pi’erre Bourne: The rapper and producer will perform at the Wiltern.
Boots and Brews: Tim McGraw headlines this country music festival.
The Craft at LA Historic Park: Cinespia will host a screening of the 90’s cult classic at the park.
Atlantis Underground: Glamtech, Girl Online, Honeybear, Oliver Hartt and Brownskinhazel are all scheduled to spin at this house music party in DTLA.

Print Bazaar: Beyond the Streets art gallery will host a book fair, flea market and zine festival celebrating printed art works.
Celebrating Indigenous People’s Day at The Getty: Families are invited to experience plant dye workshops, cooking demonstrations, a concert by Kelly Caballero and more that celebrate Native American communities in Los Angeles.
Brown is Beautiful Reading at Vroman’s: Children’s book illustrator Noor Sofi will read her book.
Fall Festival: Pick up a free pumpkin to decorate, take family photos, and eat in Santa Monica.
Sonic Boom Music Festival: Head out to Agoura Hills to see this festival curated by Dustbowl Revival.
Taste of Soul Festival: Soul food, live music and games for the family all in Baldwin Hills.
LAAPFF Hong Kong Generations of Cinema: At MOCA on Grand Ave., there will be screenings of the Hong Kong Generations of Cinema shorts, Twilight’s Kiss and The Heroic Trio.
Derby Dolls Halloween Game: The roller derby tournament between the Junior Witches and Ghosts teams will face off.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? Live reading and performance: Bob Baker’s Marionette Theater will host a live reading of the pilot episode of the beloved Nickelodeon scary stories show from the 90’s. Actors include Jonah Ray, Wil Wheaton and of course the puppets.
Lewis Black at the Orpheum: The comedian will perform.
SUNDAY
KCRW & Gustavo’s Great Tortilla Tournament: Smorgasburg will host the Fuerte Four of tortilla makers to face judgment to take home the title of best tortilla.
Dia de Los Muertos: Arcade Lane in Pasadena will celebrate the Mexican holiday with live performances including a Mariachi band and traditional and folkloric dance, lots of family friendly activities, an artisan market and alters exhibit.
Blocktoberfest: Over in Culver City, Maple Block Meat Co. will host an Oktoberfest celebration with a beer garden featuring drafts from Three Weavers Brewing, Paperback Brewing and El Segundo Brewing, and of course tons of meats, sides and BBQ Popcorn from Maple Block Meat Co.
Outlaw Music Festival: Willie Nelson & Family and the Avett Brothers headline this country-rock music festival.
