At least three people was arrested and a Los Angeles Police Department officer was injured after a pickup truck crashed into the side of a bagel shop Thursday, drawing a large police presence in Van Nuys.

LAPD officers responded to 7814 Sepulveda Blvd., north of Stagg Street, at 1:45 a.m. after an officer issued an “officer needs help” radio call after witnessing a car slam into the side of the Western Bagel store, with the vehicle slamming into one of the store’s walls and ending up halfway inside the building, LAPD Officer Norma Cervantes told City News Service.

Four people traveling in the pickup were initially taken into custody. One was determined to be a juvenile and was later released, Cervantes said.

ABC7 reported one officer suffered minor injuries.
