A 47-year-old man was shot to death at a Home Gardens residence Tuesday, but no potential suspects were immediately identified.
The attack happened between midnight and 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of Grant Street, near Indiana Avenue, along the boundary separating Home Gardens from Corona, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Alberto Loureiro said patrol deputies were called to the house to investigate reports of “an unresponsive male” and found the victim, whose name was not immediately released, suffering from gunshot wounds.
“Life-saving measures were attempted, but paramedics ultimately pronounced the man deceased at the scene,” Loureiro said.
Central Homicide Unit detectives took over the investigation, but details regarding a possible motive or assailant were not disclosed.
