A 43-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting in North Hollywood Thursday.

Officers responded around 4:05 p.m. Thursday near Lankershim Boulevard and Vanowen Street to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the victim was being followed by a male suspect believed to be in his 30s.

The victim confronted the suspect, and an altercation ensued, prompting the suspect to pull out a gun and shoot the victim before fleeing.

KTLA reported from the scene that an officer located the victim, who appeared to be lying near the curb on Vanowen Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left eye.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital taken, where he was expected to be in stable condition.

  1. It would be helpful to have a better description of the suspected shooter. What race, height, weight, clothes?
This state is so soft on shoplifting, homelessness, and crime; it’s no wonder criminals are so casual about committing crimes just to be let out by activist judges. What a nightmare this state has become at every level.
