Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding an e-bike in El Monte.
Officers responded about 10:45 p.m. Monday to the 4100 block of Richwood Avenue, near Bryant Road, regarding a collision involving an electric bicycle, according to the El Monte Police Department.
Paramedics rendered aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified him as Esteban Martinez, 48. His place of residence was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle involved stopped and cooperated with investigators, police said.
Video from the scene showed a body lying on the ground with shoes and other articles of clothing strewn around the street and the e-bike damaged and lying on its side in the street.
