The heat wave building across Southern California this weekend has already set one record.

The temperature reached 89 degrees in Long Beach, breaking the record high of 88 degrees set on this date in 1994, according to the National Weather Service.

A record was also set at San Diego’s airport, and it’s likely that more high temperature readings will fall.
