Extremely dry vegetation combined with gusty winds, hot temperatures, and low humidity will continue to cause elevated fire danger across the Southland on Saturday.
Onshore winds gusting to between 25 and 40 mph will be common in the afternoon and evening hours across the interior valleys, mountains and Antelope Valley through the weekend. Triple-digit temperature readings are expected on Saturday in many areas.
The National Weather Service forecast for central Los Angeles on Saturday calls for highs from the mid to upper 70s at the beaches to the mid to upper 80s farther inland.
Coastal Orange County can expect highs of 77 to 82 with light winds.
