
Gusty Santa Ana winds will bring hot temperatures and dangerous dry winds with the possibility of wildfires to the Southland Saturday.
The National Weather Service office in Oxnard said red flag warnings are posted for much of Los Angeles County.
The critical fire weather conditions combined with extremely dry fuels will bring the potential for large fires, rapid fire growth, and extreme fire behavior if ignition occurs, according to the weather service.
In addition to the fire weather concerns, there will also be an increased risk of heat-related illnesses for heat-sensitive individuals, especially for those without air conditioning.
The forecast for central Los Angeles from Malibu to Long Beach calls for sun with highs in the 80s at some beaches and into the 90s at downtown Los Angeles and other inland areas.
