A man fatally struck by a Metro Expo Line train in the Leimert Park area of South Los Angeles was a missing Los Angeles resident who suffered from dementia, authorities said.
Henry Dykes was 64, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith.
Dykes was fatally struck by the Expo Line light-rail train at 12:51 a.m. Friday in the 2000 block of West Exposition Boulevard, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
He had last been seen New Year’s Day in the 2000 block of Cullivan Street in the Westmont area of Los Angeles and was reported missing, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
After Dykes was killed by the train, the department updated his status, reporting that he had been located.
