A rubbish fire in Northridge spread to some grass and trees Thursday, but no injuries were reported.
The fire broke out about 6:20 p.m. near train tracks in the 17300 block of Raymer Street, near Parthenia Street, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The flames ignited grass and trees and singed a nearby garage and other structures Prange said.
The 34 firefighters sent to the scene knocked down the fire in about 40 minutes, Prange said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
