A brushfire near Fryman Canyon homes in Studio City Saturday afternoon was contained to 1 1/2 acres and surrounded by containment lines in 2 1/2 hours.
The fire was reported about 3:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of North Coldwater Canyon Avenue near Mulholland Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.
The flames were burning in medium brush pushed by winds of 8-10 miles per hour, Prange said. Access to the fire was a challenge due to steep terrain.
“There are homes in the vicinity,” he said. Firefighters defended those homes from damage.
Helicopters from the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department made water drops to slow the spread of the fire, Prange said.
