A person was found dead in Sun Valley Monday after being hit by a freight train, authorities said.
The body was discovered about 7:50 a.m. near the 12000 block of West Sheldon Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Information on the person’s identity was not immediately known.
According to Metrolink, the person was hit by a Union Pacific train, and Metrolink’s AV Line 208 train to Los Angeles will hold at Newhall.
Alternate transportation was being sought, including busses, and rail passengers were advised to follow social media for details, Metrolink reported.
