A wind-driven brush fire broke out Tuesday near the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the San Dimas area and blacked about 40 acres before crews got the upper hand.
The blaze was reported early Tuesday afternoon west of Kellogg Drive and was burning uphill, amid a red flag warning of high fire danger due to strong winds and low humidity, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
By about 3:10 p.m., crews had stopped the forward spread of the blaze, which was about 40% contained, according to the fire department.
