Metrolink Wednesday said it will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 5 — the official holiday of the July 4th weekend.

Meanwhile, the transit agency will operate on a regular weekend schedule on Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4.

In addition, $10 holiday tickets and $10 weekend day passes will be available for purchase for all three days of the holiday weekend, the agency said.

The holiday and weekend day passes permit unlimited rides on Metrolink on the day of purchase.

To help families travel and explore Southern California, kids ride free on Metrolink on Saturdays and Sundays. A maximum of three children, ages 17 and under, can ride for free with one adult with valid fare.

Over the holiday weekend, Metrolink’s Rail 2 Rail program with Amtrak, which regularly allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to travel on Pacific Surfliner trains within station pairs at no additional charge, will be suspended from Friday through Monday. The program will resume on Tuesday, July 6.
