“Fantastic Four: First Steps” opened with $118 million this weekend to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The highly anticipated Marvel release stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the titular superheroes, astronauts who attain special powers when their spaceship encounters a cosmic storm.

“Superman” was second with $24.8 million Friday though Sunday in its third week of release, Comscore reported.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” took in $13 million in its fourth weekend in theaters.

“F1 The Movie” was fourth with $6.2 million in its fifth week, followed by “Smurfs,” which made $5.4 million in its second week.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “I Know What You Did Last Summer” ($5.1 million), “How to Train Your Dragon” ($2.8 million), “Eddington” ($1.6 million), “Saiyaara” ($1.2 million) and “Oh, Hi!” ($1.1 million).
