The Lakers will try to complete a sweep of their three-game season series against the Memphis Grizzlies Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
The Lakers defeated the Grizzlies on Friday thanks in part to three-pointers by Jarred Vanderbilt and Jake LaRavia during a late run resulting in a 128-121 final score at Crypto.com Arena.
Memphis had taken a 110-109 lead with 6:08 to play on Jaren Jackson’s driving layup. But they were then outscored 12-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 18,997.
Luka Doncic scored a game-high 34 points to lead five players in double figures for the Lakers (22-11), who had lost four of their previous five games.
Jackson led the Grizzlies (15-19) with 25.
Guard Gabe Vincent (lumbar back strain) missed his seventh consecutive game, guard Austin Reeves (left calf sprain) his third and forward Rui Hachimura (right calf soreness) his second.
Rookie forward Adou Thiero was sidelined by a right MCL sprain he suffered Tuesday. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors in approximately four weeks, the team announced Wednesday. Thiero is averaging 1.3 points per game.
Sunday’s game starts at 6:30 p.m.
