A 45-year-old man is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday after being arrested for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old boy at the Puente Hills Mall in Industry.
Richard Camarena was arrested at a home in Claremont, according to Deputy Kimberly Alexander of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Before his arrest, investigators had circulated surveillance images of Camarena, who had been described as a person of interest they were trying to identify.
The boy reported that he was inappropriately touched about 6:50 p.m. on July 8 by a man in a bathroom at the mall, according the sheriff’s department.
Camarena was booked on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child, Alexander said.
Camarena was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and was due in court in Pomona on Tuesday, Alexander said. He was arrested Saturday.
