A fire that burned primarily in the cabin of a 40-foot fishing boat in the Port of Los Angeles was knocked down 24 minutes after the first alarm Sunday evening.

The fire was reported at 6:09 p.m. Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Boat 2 began the attack with its water cannon, knocking down the bulk of the fire, the department’s Nicholas Prange said.

Firefighters extended hand lines into the boat to finish off the remaining flames, Prange said.

Firefighters searched the boat after putting the fire out and found no victims, Prange said.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
