Firefighters were working Thursday to extinguish a fire at a scrap metal recycling business in the South Los Angeles area.
The fire was reported about 12:05 p.m. at C&M Metals in the 1700 block of East 24th Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters went into a “defensive mode” and worked to douse the flames in a 75-foot-by-100-foot pile of metal recycling material and machinery, the LAFD reported.
No structures were threatened, and no injuries were immediately reported.
