Assembling evidence the way Michael C. Hall looked at blood spatters, inquisitr.com is predicting a revival of “Dexter” on Showtime.

“The show is ideal for a reboot, particularly because it is in need of redemption,” the site said, recalling the trail of bodies left by Hall as the title character.

Showtime head David Nevins has expressed an interest in reviving favorite series.

“’Dexter’ is the one show that I would think about [continuing]. It’s a question of when the timing is right,” Nevins said. “If there’s a willingness to do it, I would certainly listen. Certainly I’d look at Dexter.”

Focusing on the secret life as a vigilante serial killer, “Dexter” ended after season 8, drawing a Showtime record 2.8 million viewers to its finale in September 2013.

Dustin Rowles at Uproxx fueled the speculation as well:

“Showtime has no immediate plans to bring back Dexter. However, reboots are a popular trend right now, Showtime has never had a series more successful than Dexter, and Michael C. Hall hasn’t done a lot of film or television work since the series ended (he has worked on Broadway), so bringing it back someday is absolutely not out of the question. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising.”
