A man and a woman suspected of assaulting actor Ian Ziering on New Year’s Eve in Hollywood were taken into custody Tuesday after investigators executed search warrants at two Los Angeles residences.

Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Area detectives, with the assistance of Metropolitan Division investigators, located 20-year-old Jacob Esteban Hernandez of Rosemead and 40-year-old Angie Teresa Guizar of Los Angeles around 6 a.m. Tuesday after conducting two residential search warrants, according to the LAPD.

Hernandez was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism with a bail set at $50,000, while Guizar was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail was set at $30,000.

On Dec. 31, officers responded to the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard, near Highland Avenue, around 3 p.m. after at least four members of a minibike gang assaulted Ziering.

“While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation,” Ziering, best known for his roles on “Beverly Hills, 90210” and the series of “Sharknado” made-for-TV movies, wrote on his Instagram page shortly after the incident.

“In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car,” Ziering wrote. “This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

Video captured one of the minibike swinging an object at the victim, nearly striking him, police said.

“After the assault, the minibike riders vandalized the motorist’s vehicle while his 10-year-old child remained in the front seat. The victim and his child did not sustain any serious injuries,” police said in a statement.

Multiple videos of the altercation surfaced on social media, and various media outlets also obtained the footage, police said.

The footage assisted law enforcement officials with critical information in identifying and arresting the two suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the assault and vandalism was urged to call Hollywood Division Detective Douglass Hall at 213-972-2971. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
