A man in his early 50s was significantly burned in an explosion inside a house in Orange Wednesday night, police said.
The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, Orange Police Department Lt. Fred Lopez said.
The explosion occurred around 10 p.m. in the 3900 block of El Carmen Avenue and was not caused by an explosive device, Lopez said.
The explosion felt like an earthquake, neighbor Ken Dufault said.
“It shook everything,” Dufault said.
Dufault said four homes around the explosion site were briefly evacuated.
