Four people, including a toddler, were recovering Monday from an eight-car pileup on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway in Garden Grove that backed up traffic for miles as the highway was shut.
Two adults were seriously injured and transported to a trauma center, according to a fire official. A toddler and another adult were treated for minor injuries and then taken to a hospital, he said.
It happened about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on the eastbound 22 Freeway, just west of Harbor Boulevard, Garden Grove Fire Department Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.
The California Highway Patrol temporarily shut down eastbound lanes at the site of the crash, according to Nguyen.
