Two people were hospitalized in critical condition Friday evening with wounds suffered in a shooting in a homeless encampment in downtown Los Angeles.
The gunfire was first reported about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Figueroa and Temple streets, near the Hollywood (101) Freeway, Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
