Two businesses in Torrance were evacuated and a bomb squad investigated a vehicle with a suspicious device Monday evening.
Torrance Police Department officers responded about 4:50 p.m. to a Ralphs grocery store in the 3400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, near the Del Amo Fashion Center, to a call about a possible bomb in a vehicle, according to the Torrance Police Department.
The person in the vehicle cooperated with officers. Police used a drone and a dog to investigate the vehicle, but were unable to determine if the suspicious device inside was explosive, police reported.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad is assisting on the scene to identify the device, and the Ralphs and a nearby brewery have been evacuated, police reported.
