One person was killed and four others were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle collision at a Jurupa Valley intersection.
The crash was reported about 10:20 a.m. at Etiwanda Avenue and Ryder Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Two engine crews and a truck company were sent to the location and found three victims trapped and two others standing outside their damaged car.
Firefighters extricated all of the trapped occupants within 15 minutes. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Two people were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries, while the remaining two were transported to Riverside Community Hospital with minor injuries, according to reports from the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies shut down the intersection to conduct a preliminary investigation.
