The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 41st consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.13.

The average price has dropped 40.7 cents over the past 41 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose $1.078 during a 34-day streak of increases that preceded the price drops.

The average price is 5.6 cents less than one week ago, 30.7 cents lower than one month ago and $1.168 below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the 41st consecutive day Wednesday, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.093. It is 5.2 cents less than one week ago, 32.2 cents lower than one month ago and $1.196 below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 42.9 cents over the past 41 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday. It rose $1.09 during a 33- day streak of increases that ended one day before the current streak of declines began.
