A sheriff’s SWAT team arrested a man who allegedly fired shots Monday from the rooftop of a single-story residence in the Walnut Park area, prompting at least one deputy to open fire and injure the suspect.
Deputies went to the 2500 block of Sale Place about 5:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A sheriff’s SWAT team arrested the man after a standoff of about two hours, according to the sheriff’s department, which said detectives were sent “to a deputy-involved shooting.”
“The male adult suspect was transported to a local hospital to be treated,” a sheriff’s statement said.
The nature of the man’s injury was not known, and his name was not immediately released.
According to CBS2, the man was shot and wounded by deputies.
