The city of Murrieta will celebrate its 32nd birthday Saturday, featuring a slate of family-oriented events, including food, music and fireworks.
“Murrieta’s `Birthday Bash’ exemplifies what is wonderful about this special city,” City Manager Kim Summers said. “We value family, friends and coming together as a community to enjoy local vendors and businesses. It is a true community event, and everybody is invited to celebrate the city’s birthday with entertainment and fun. It’s a great way to kick off summer.”
The municipality incorporated on July 1, 1991.
The birthday celebration is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in California Oaks Sports Park, 40600 California Oaks Road.
Skynyrd & Company, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, will play sets, along with the K-Tel All-Stars, while attendees enjoy barbecues, games and a “firefighters’ hose down,” for those who don’t mind getting wet, according to officials.
The pyrotechnics show is scheduled after sunset.
