The season premieres of NBC‘s “Heroes Reborn” and “The Player” were both third in their time slots behind CBS’ “Thursday Night Football” and ABC’s Thursday dramas.
According to live-plus-same-day figures released by Nielsen on Friday, “Heroes Reborn” averaged 6.09 million viewers from 8-10 p.m. Thursday and “The Player” 4.86 million from 10-11 p.m.
CBS was the night’s most-watched network, with “Thursday Night Football” and 27 minutes of pregame programming averaging 15.8 million viewers.
ABC averaged 9.39 million viewers with the season premieres of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder.” NBC was third averaging 5.68 million. Fox was fourth among the major broadcast networks, averaging 2.01 million viewers for a rerun of the two-hour “Scream Queens” premiere that ran two days earlier.
