About 100 people were evacuated from the Country Squire RV Park in Desert Hot Springs Tuesday as firefighters battled a blaze that engulfed at least seven trailers.

Crews responded shortly before 1 p.m. to the 66400 block of Dillon Road, a representative of the Riverside County Fire Department told City News Service.

According to the fire department, at least seven trailers were involved in the fire, which quickly went to a second alarm as crews called for additional support.

Due to the presence of a 500-gallon propane tank, the entire trailer park was evacuated as a precaution, fire officials said. Around 100 people were evacuated by 1:12 p.m.

A Sunline Transit bus was requested shortly after by the Desert Hot Springs Police Department to act as a mobile cool center, according to fire officials. The Desert Hot Springs Library, 14380 Palm Drive, was established as an evacuation and cooling center.

No injuries were immediately reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
