Two men were seriously hurt and a woman was arrested Sunday in West Covina after she hit the men with her car while they were fighting in the street, according to authorities.
The fight between the men near the intersection of Serenade Avenue and Lucille Avenue began shortly before noon, according to West Covina police spokesman Officer David Sifling.
Two men — who reportedly knew each other — were involved in a fight at a home that spilled into the street, according to West Covina police Lt. Dennis Patton.
During the fight, one of the men retrieved a handgun, which was determined to be a replica, Sifling said. While the two men were fighting, an unidentified woman drove her car into the men pinning them under the car.
Neighbors rushed to the aid of the men lifting the car off both men, Sifling said.
After the men were pulled out from under the car, the woman got back into her car along with one of the injured men who had the fake gun and both fled the scene in her car.
Responding officers stopped the car near the scene.
The unidentified injured man in her car was airlifted to Los Angeles County – USC Medical Center for treatment, Sifling said. The other injured man from the fight also was hospitalized.
The woman was arrested and booked into the West Covina jail for attempted murder, Sifling added.
Her name was not immediately available from police.
The condition of the two injured men was unknown.
