A man and a woman suspected in an assault involving three victims, selling drugs and having firearms in Perris were arrested, authorities said Friday.

Perris residents Donnessa Sampson, 40, and 47-year-old Deytwan Sampson were arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of ecstasy for sale, drug and weapon charges and child endangerment, according to Sgt. Kamal Kabbara of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The relationship between the two suspects and the nature of the child endangerment allegation were not immediately disclosed by the sheriff’s department.

Kabbara said that deputies from the Perris sheriff’s station responded on April 28 to a report of an assault with a firearm involving three victims at Frank Eaton Park in the May Ranch neighborhood.

The Perris City Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation and gathered information which led them to serve a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of Ranch Street, according to Kabbara. SET members and the Riverside Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Region 6 searched the residence on Thursday.

“During the search warrant, deputies located two firearms, a hard plate body armor, a small amount of narcotics, and approximately $440,000 in United States currency,” Kabbara wrote in a statement.

The Sampsons were subsequently arrested and booked into Riverside County jails, where they remain booked on $1 million bail bonds, according to inmate records. Donnessa Sampson is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and Deytwan Sampson into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

As the investigation remained ongoing, anyone with additional information on the case was asked to call Deputy Soto with the Perris sheriff’s station at 951-210-1000.
