One man was behind bars Friday and another was hospitalized following a crash in an alleged street race in Mission Viejo that killed a 21-year-old woman.
The crash that killed Shalia Deciderio of Rancho Santa Margarita occurred about 9:40 p.m. Thursday at Los Alisos Boulevard and Mustang Run, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department..
Jaime Rojas, 20, of Mission Viejo, was driving the car that crashed, deputies said. The driver of the other vehicle was 21-year-old Aiden Deciderio of Rancho Santa Margarita, deputies said.
Both drivers were booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, deputies said.
Deciderio was booked in the Orange County Jail Friday and Rojas was taken to an area hospital following the crash.
