Firefighters extinguished a blaze Sunday inside a two-story home in the Adams/Normandie area of Los Angeles that seriously injured one person.
The fire was reported at 5:21 p.m. at 1770 W. 27th St., according to spokeswoman Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The LAFD sent 44 firefighters to the scene, and they knocked down the flames in 23 minutes, Stewart said.
A 44-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition for treatment of a traumatic leg injury and smoke inhalation, Stewart added.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
