A motorist was killed after crashing into a tree in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Sunday.
The crash was reported Saturday at 3:07 p.m. Saturday on Mission Boulevard, west of Wineville Road where responding deputies found the vehicle crashed into a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unknown if there were any other occupants in the vehicle. The name of the driver was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known, and it was unknown if drug and/or alcohol played a role.
Mission Boulevard between Wineville Road and Cornerstone Drive was closed for investigation.
