The eighth annual Taste of Jalisco Festival, featuring a carnival, music, food trucks and tequila tasting, will conclude Sunday in Cathedral City.
Festival hours are noon-9 p.m., with the carnival running 1 p.m.-9 p.m. at 68600 East Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Cathedral City. Organizers on Saturday said the festivities were still a go despite the rainy forecast.
The festival got underway Friday with the raising of flags by Cathedral City Mayor Mark Carnavale, live entertainment from Outlaw Marachi, and the opening of the artisan market and carnival.
Sunday will feature a free car show with more than 40 cars and trucks from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. There will also be a performance by the tribute band Carlos Santana Savor the Band.
Organizers said Sunday’s wrestling events had been canceled due to rain in the forecast.
The annual celebration honors the sister city relationship between Cathedral City and Tequila, Jalisco in Mexico.
